The surgery is committed to keeping our surgery safe to protect sick and vulnerable patients & staff from the risk of COVID-19. We ask that after the 19th of July patients continue to wear face masks and socially distance in our surgery, unless medically exempt.

How the surgery is working during the Covid Pandemic 

Closed the doors to the public This action was taken to limit the potential infection that people coming to the surgery may bring. Don’t worry though there are still staff inside! We are now working to a telephone only consultation system where if you contact us you will be dealt with firstly over the phone and if the Dr decides that it is important you are seen you may be invited to a face to face appointment.

Online appointment booking we have temporarily stopped online bookings so our staff can safely triage patients before they come to the practice. For your and our safety we will need to speak to you first before an appointment is made.

Telephone and video consultations We have started to roll out video consultations so when you are at home you can still speak to someone face-to-face. If the Doctor feels it is appropriate they will suggest a video consultation.

Prescriptions – Even though we are closed to the public walking in, we are still working as hard as we can. This means that you can still order your prescriptions and get the medication you need during this time. 

Non COVID medical problems – We are still here to help you with any new or ongoing conditions or problems, not just COVID related problems. If you feel you need to speak to a Doctor or that we can help you please do not hesitate to call us on 0114 263 6100.

How to access your COVID-19 vaccination status

You can access your COVID-19 vaccination status through the free NHS App from 17 May. You can access the app through mobile devices such as a smartphone or by tablet. Proof of your COVID-19 vaccination status will be shown within the NHS App. We recommend that you register with the app before booking international travel.

If you do not have access to a smartphone and know that the country you are travelling to requires COVID-19 vaccination status, you can call the NHS helpline on 119 (from 17 May) and ask for a letter to be posted to you. This must be at least 5 days after you’ve completed your course of the vaccine. We expect the letter to take up to 5 days to reach you.

Do not contact your GP surgery about your COVID-19 vaccination status. GPs cannot provide letters showing your COVID-19 vaccination status.

We would like to thank everyone for following the advice of the government by wearing a mask when and where appropriate. We are asking all patients who are invited by us to come in to surgery to wear a mask or a face coving for their appointment. We cannot guarantee that we will be able to provide you one. Thank you for keeping yourselves, others and us safe at this time. This has positive benefits for the NHS as a whole and ensures that for as long as we can the care and services we offer can continue.

We try to provide the best service possible, but sometimes things do go wrong. We always try to learn and improve from complaints.

If you make a complaint we will:

  • Acknowledge your complaint within three working days
  • Offer to discuss your complaint with you and agree a timeframe for responding
  • Investigate and respond to your complaint fully

IAPT - Update 11th June

The Sheffield IAPT service is still continuing to offer the same level of treatment for people with depression and the range of anxiety disorders however they will be seeing patients in a slightly different way. 

Appointments will be via telephone or video call and you can continue to access their services by calling 0114 2264380 or completing an online self-referral form via their website 

There are a range of upcoming classes covering issues from living well with long term conditions to low mood across June and July - You can book on to these by following the link or calling the number above.

COVID-19 Support – We’re Here for You

It is understandable that during times like this, people may be feeling afraid, worried, anxious, and overwhelmed. Our Social Prescriber can help you with finding the support you need, whether that be ensuring you have your groceries, linking-up to mutual support groups, or building your mental health. Named Accountable GP for all Patients

A new Government scheme now requires every patient to be allocated a Named GP who is responsible for patients’ overall care at the practice. The allocation of a Named GP for ALL Patients has now been completed. If you would like to find out which GP you have been allocated, please enquire the next time you are in the surgery.

As a patient, you will still be able to book an appointment with any GP at the surgery. You also have the right to request a change to your allocated GP if you have a preferred choice GP. The practice will make reasonable efforts to accommodate this request.

Online Services Information

GP online services allow you to access a range of services via your computer, mobile or tablet. Once you have signed up, you will be able to:

  • book or cancel appointments online
  • renew or order repeat prescriptions online
  • view parts of your GP record, including information about medication, allergies, vaccinations, previous illnesses and test results

You can still contact the practice by phone or in person, this is just another option, which other patients have found is more convenient and saves them time. More information including “how to” leaflets and videos of patients and why they are using GP online services are available at

How to sign-up

For more information, please contact reception or next time you visit the surgery, bring with you a piece of photo ID (passport, driving licence) and something with your address on like a bank statement but not a gas or electric bill. If you don’t have these, please talk to us and we will help you sign-up
